Local Washington, D.C. news channel WUSA9 featured KellDann founding partner Kirk Sigmon in a special news report regarding Louis Vuitton’s newly-filed lawsuit against casino Maryland Live!

The feature aired on June 5, and a recording of the video is available on the WUSA9 website here.

The lawsuit, filed in early June, relates to Louis Vuitton’s allegations that Maryland Live! infringed a variety of their trademarks. As detailed in the article accompanying the video:

The French fashion house filed a lawsuit in US District Court on Monday over knock-off handbags, backpacks, and toiletry bags the casino distributed to visitors. The casino ran a promotion in April called “The Art of Luxury” where they gave away brown bags with Louis Vuitton’s signature pattern, just replacing the “LV” design with the “Live!” logo. Visitors would be able to earn the bags by redeeming credits earned from spending money at the casino.

“They had been distributing this information without actually selling or… providing real Louis Vuitton bags. These were made to…at least according to Louis Vuitton…look like the bags, but they were not,” said Founding Partner at KellDann law Kirk Sigmon, who specializes in Intellectual Property law. He said that Maryland Live! is facing a very tough case.

Kirk’s commentary was also covered in the Chinese language publication World Journal.
