At the International Intellectual Property Law Association (“IIPLA”) China conference in Shanghai, founding partner Kirk Sigmon presented and moderated on topics such as anti-counterfeiting and anti-piracy work, global patent prosecution, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and more. Among other points, Kirk’s comments focused on his research involving using AI-based image search techniques to find counterfeit goods listed on online marketplaces, the issues inherent in LLM-based patent drafting, and his recent work on KellDann’s AI-enabled patent analysis toolkit, PatentAgility.

The conference, held in Shanghai on June 8 and 9, featured a wide array of speakers from around the world on topics such as intellectual property litigation, arbitration, patent prosecution, artificial intelligence, and more. Kirk moderated panels with speakers from the National University of Singapore (“NUS”) Faculty of Law, the Aalborg University Business School (“AAUBS”), Siemens, and more.
